Project 365: #71 The hen and the chicks

I was out this morning playing with the kitties. Since my sister woke me up suuuuper early I thought I might as well play with the kids. Then I saw this cute little family. Aren't they adorable?? ^^, It's a mama hen with 5 chicks. At least that's how many I could count. She was digging and looking for food while the lil chicks were digging too.

I love to watch the funny antics of the chicks and the chicken family. I also have noticed that there are a growing number of chickens and rooster in my area. Hmm....

Thought of the day

As I was watching a couple of roosters chase each other, I began to feel at ease. They were funny to me and how the bigger of the 3 roosters were trying to chase the other 2 from the chicken, his chick. :) Then another couple of couples pass while making clucking sounds.

Funny how watching a pair of these animals make me smile and how silly they act if one rooster is trying to get the chicken attention. They are very protective of their big, fat chick. I did see a rooster running everywhere this morning, and a chicken with 4 lil chicks. I wonder if they are a pair.
