I just want to thank all of the powerful, inpirational, hard working, dedicated and beautiful women out there. And to all of my fellow bloggers/youtubers/tweeple, thank you for making me a small part of your life. :) You guys are inspirational to me and all of the women out in the world.

Let's celebratrate us and have fun tonight!! Anyway, update. I have a 60s musical show Friday night so that is why I have been MIA for these past few weeks. Rehearsal have been everyday, from 7 to midnight. So it is kinda tiring. Everything is coming along nicely. I wish I had some nice clips to show you but most are just of people's behind because I can only take videos when I am not playing, which for the most part I am playing. I have some rehearsal shots that I uploaded on facebook. I will post some here when I have them all up and I can just copy and paste. :D

I miss reading your blogs and when I am home free after this show I will have a ton of posts to read!! Musicals are my favorite to play in. I hope they do more in the future!!

Project 365: #96 A jazzy weekend

I have been pretty busy this weekend and last, with shows/performance back to back weekend. :) The show was pretty awesome, since there was not a whole lot of audience I still think it's a success. :D I am still waiting for my uncle to upload some pictures of the performance, since my pictures are just goofy, on stage pictures, I will post anyway.

Project 365: #90 A Jazzy night

Me and jazz have a love and hate relationship. My jazz family and I, is what I meant. There are ups and downs, as for everything. Assuming I am not pissed off and in a fowl mood, it's always a good night. I took some pictures :)

Everyone just seem so bored...it's always like this mind you. Then when it's show time everyone goes crazy cause we never do enough practice. Like Hello?! That gets my blood boiling. Anyway, finally got this posted. I never did post the pictures from last show. Hmmm, I am sorry. Just too much on my mind. :) Maybe soon...theres another few shows coming up so that too ;)

Piece of the week: L.O.V.E

In late 2009 (wow I have been blogging for awhile now :P) I always try to share a piece that I love that have been played during that week. I stopped posting in 2010 for no apparent reason, I think one because no one really read it and two because they songs gets so difficult to choose from. :D

I decided to continue posting and sharing my piece of the week. :) Since playing in both the classical and jazz orchestra, my night have been occupied and sometimes it really is annoying. Especially when I want to hang out with my girls. :D But I have been blessed with new friends and new love for songs, tunes and composers. :)

I want to share one song that I love. L.O.V.E. ^^ I am sure you have all heard this song, and if you haven't shame on you. :P




This song reminds me of the movie Little Rascal. I love that movie and watched it more times than I can remember. :D Have you watched that movie? It's so cute! ^^ Enjoy!

Anniversary and birthdays celebration :)

I wanted to share some pictures with you guys. :) 2 weeks ago (December 18th) or so was my parents' 27th anniversary and it was also my Christmas/year end concert. My sisters cooked and baked a cake (which was cup cake batter they turn into a chocolate cake!) and it was delish! :D It was better! And yummilicious!! ^__^ I wasn't there to celebrate with them but they waited for me to come home to cut the cake. :D Isn't it an interesting cake? So decorative :P.

Long weekend Part 1

Saturday nights are usually reserved for my creative side. Meaning I have to spend a few hours every Saturday night meeting up with my musically talented friends. :) You know it says a lot about these people. We sacrifice Saturday nights (that we can spend with friends going shopping or going to the movies) for our orchestra practice. It's fun and there are pros to going other than expanding our creative minds and musical knowledge. We get $$. But of course that's not very important. :) We get to attend shows and functions that not a lot of people get to go to, and free of charge of course. Then again we do get to sit on stage and try to madly play tunes, and pieces and not screw up. XD

Well nothing exciting happened really. Some of the 'key players' were away on a show for a function and we were left there, just us, mere mortals and not the "key players". Although saying 'key players' really gets me off because well we're kinda like the 'leftovers'. Hurhurhur~~ Sad but anyway we did pretty good. Of course we just played some Christmas songs, which I love! Me and a friend of mine, Nacy, had to lead the 2nd violin. I was like OMFG-Eva! Eva and I have been going and playing in the orchestra for about 12 years and I think we started together too. She looked at me and laugh.

I asked, "You know when was the last time I lead?"

Eva, "Yes when you were playing the 3rd violin."

Laughs. It was fun though. We did play Schubert 'Unfinished' symphony No 8.



Ok we aren't that good but we did okay. :D I have a feeling that our conductor wants us to play this for our 18th December function =___=''. Needing to practice now. I have pictures to show but it is currently residing in my camera and are refusing to make its appearance (battery died :P) so I will have to continue this a lil later. :D Enjoy the piece by Schubert. I really like the song.

So, what did you do this weekend??

Saturday night was fun...with red polka dot tights ^__^

It was the Governer's birthday celebration. And we were playing for his birthday dinner. (FYI I play in an orchestra :) maybe I'll blog about it one of these days ;) ). One of the many things I love about it is I get to dress up: usually all black which is fine with me because I love black. :D So that particular night I decided to wear this red polka dot tights. And I am. In. Love. :)

A funny thing happened just before I got in the car to go to the hall - the screw on my glasses was loose and it fell. So I was practically blind without them! This is what happened after a lil help from my friend.

It's kinda hilarious when I look at it now...and I did joke about it that night :P (and I got it fixed!).

I was trying to hide the 'injured' glasses XD and you can't see it really ^__^

So it was a pretty busy week, with rehearsal and such and after that I went out to have dinner with one of the member. He said I remind him of his daughter..awww. I was touched and honored. :) We had some noodle soup and satay. Sadly I think I deleted the picture because it was dark, booo... :D.

Peter Korbel

Last Thursday, me, Juli and her parents went to our first SONS concert. I mean literally it was my first concert sitting in the audience and not trying to keep up with the conductor. I was not sitting there under the hot spot light trying to keep in tempo so I wouldn't mess up or play catch up with the pieces. It actually felt nice (and sleepy!). I was sleepy because I had very little sleep the night before...and not because the orchestra was boring. :D I was a satisfied audience. Altho there was some minor ufff-ness that I wished they would've fixed at the interval. The Germany guess guitarist, Peter Korbel was indeed amazing but his pieces was so muffed that I couldn't hear it clearly. Either that or that they did not amplified the sound coming from his guitar. I think that was one of the downside of the concert. But believe me, the orchestra improved 100% from our concert last year. And trust me, last year wasn't good...we messed up twice =___=''.

So here are some of the pictures I took (from my seat cause I was lazy to get up from my ass and since we had front row seats, I was happily stuck to the chair :P)

I think I am getting sick. This is the 365487968 time that I think I have been sick this year...and it's only April =_=''' so FML. So this is not a good time to squeeze my brain for anything to write. Is it?? Well nothing much have really happened...except if you want to consider my dad getting transferred to another job zillion of miles away is exciting yay! *throw streamers in the air* =_=''' Really I think it is kinda sad. I dunno I have mixed emotions about it.

Last week Tuesday I have found out about The Amazing Race: China Rush...right before it's closing date for submitting applications: 2nd April. =_=''' OK it is kinda funny that I would even consider being in such reality (or thinking of sending a video!!) tv show cause I hate being in front of the camera!- but I dunno. I think it would be fun, altho I dunno why they would even consider picking me...out of hundreds (maybe millions!) who submitted. I am guessing there are millions of couples that want to be on the show right? Or maybe I am wrong? Hmmm...I dunno. It is hard to tell. *sigh*

Update: Just went to their Facebook page and the submission date is extended to April 12th!!! Should I?


*sigh* Ok soooo the other news is that I wont be able to go to the Peter Korbel concert...as in I am not playing in the orchestra!! *cries and hide behind the chair* buttttttttttttttttt I think I might be going to the concert!! Yay! Thank you for the free tickets!! Woot woot!!! Actually I prefer to be in the orchestra rather that listening to the orchestra...it is my first love playing not listening...but ah well... tough luck. =_=''' The next show I will be in it!!!!! :D Altho that means I can dress up for the function, the say smart/casual...I can go a lil over :P it will be great!!! So now the problem is that I dunno who is going with me... =_=''' huh. So hard...I can't go alone!!! I never go alone :( Altho I was thinking of watching The Clash of The Titans alone. Anyone has seen the movie??? Some of my friends says it. Is. Awesome. So...I can't wait to go!!!! (Damn color just disappeared =_=''')

Peter Korbel and the works

So as it turns out there are plenty of circle and squares that will be present in my calender starting today. :) Ok it is a good thing and also a bad thing. I found out that the movie The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus is still showing (yay!) but it also means that I can't go and watch it tonight, since I have my practice. For a concert. By Peter Korbel.

For who you say? (I am sure some of you may know or may not know who Peter Korbel is, I don't exactly know but his name sounds familliar. Really.) Peter Korbel. I will post a YouTube video of him playing his guitar.







Ok he is the dude that plays awesome guitar (or so I have heard.) but I might have to google him after I write this. And we also have a line of shows and functions (and hopefully I am selected to play!) after Peter Korbel.

:D So you see I am keeping myself busy. Here's what we practiced last night. Was an awesome piece but it was pretty hard since it was our first time playing it! :D It rocks tho! It's a piece by Tchaikovsky, Serenade for Strings movement II.

You know it's X-mas when your orchestra practice starts playing the Christmas Song

Yes, it is officially Christmas! Last night we spent 3 hours playing Christmas songs. I get it, it's like 2 weeks before Christmas but well I don't have anything against Christmas I suppose. But I like Christmas songs to be played like in March or June...December is too Christmas-y. I know weird...but we did have fun playing Christmas songs. Songs like Frosty the snowman, Hark the Herald angels sing, O ye faithful (ok I don't know if I spelled it right) and a few other Christmas must-play. I'd put some Christmas songs up but I think it's overrated :P haha.


We did play 3 pieces by Anita Hewitt-Jones. It was fun pieces. I love Ragtime, it just reminds me of fun Autumn evenings, running through the fields...maybe it's just me ;).

Georges Bizet

Georges Bizet's Suite from CARMEN is one of the best pieces I have played as of late, but...I can't find it anywhere (on YouTube!). Maybe I have not been looking properly...but do not fret, I will keep looking...or find another alternative for it. The suite from Carmen comprises of The phantom of the opera and Music of the night, my fave! (Either that or I have the pieces mixed up :P). But I will keep looking.


Other that that, I have some bizarre news I want to share, but not at this moment. I am still thinking on how to go on writing it on paper (haha, paper :P I have not been writing on paper for a while). Been pretty busy lately, since it is Christmas soon, school holiday are such a drag. I want to go to Disneyland!!! (heh out of the blue...)

Piece of the week: Serenade for Strings

Ok, I am guilty for not posting my POW and I am sorry. I have been MIA from my rehearsal for nearly a month and a half and I don't have any new pieces to share. But last Friday I went to my practice and I fell in love with this short but sweet piece. It is by Mozart, enjoy. :)

Piece of the week: Greatest Hits

I have been away for awhile..actually just here but so busy. Doing this and that (read: not finishing what I have started) but anyway that's typical of me. Ahaha...such a bad habit. Ultimately I have been missing from my Saturday night practices (but come on, it's a Saturday night, I want to go out and do nothing) so I am kinda worried I may not get picked for November/December concert/show/performance. But heck with it. :) I will go to the rehearsal cause I have to love to play my instrument. :D Am a happy camper.


This week I want to share this lovely piece. I love me some Tchaikovsky :D and we have played this piece several times before. And I love it. Short, simple and sweet. Hope you enjoy it, Tchaikovsky's Greatest Hits. **Pssst, fyi my birthday present has not arrived yet, I know....so I am asking for a bigger present :P

Piece of the week: Camille Saint-Saens

This week I have a cute little long piece to share. It is so cute :D. They even tell me before we started playing. :D So listen to my pick this week. It is a complete version of Camille Saint-Saens 'Le carnaval des animaux'. (I am assuming it is translated to 'The carnival of animals' :D) Really adorable.^^ (I have only gone to my practice after weeks of absence...I miss you Ms violin!!)

Piece of the week: Star Wars Theme

Star Wars you say? Yes I say. Actually I did not find the clip I was looking for on YouTube (dang search engine) but we did play this piece this week. I am sure this is not an alien theme for all most of you since it's Star Wars for goodness sake! Honestly, I have only watched one Star Wars movie...it was preeeety good. I have to go thru it again just to make sure. :P

Our Friday rehearsal consists of string players only (or Junior Strings as it is dubbed). Most of the players kids that plays in it are
1. totally new to playing in the orchestra.
2. are not ready to join the full ensemble orchestra.
3. are kids (like WTF?)
4. did I say kids already?

Ok, the kids can play better than I! On a regular basic, meaning theories, solo pieces (I totally suck, that's why I need more practice!!) but they play really soft when they are in an orchestra. And they ok some, can't keep up with the pace of an orchestra. I am not saying I can - since I only play for like oh 14 years!- but some of the pieces we play are pretty damn fast! I know sometimes I can't keep up myself! That's for lack of sidereading the notes.. =_='''  I have lost my magic touch. *sigh* Nothing practice can't fix!!

Piece of the week: Symphony no 47 in G major

Ok, as we all know it was a holiday weekend, which means....holiday, no rest, food, staying up most of the night, food, friends, family and laughter. Yeah fun...then I remember I forgot this week POW...hmmm. I guess I wasn't in a rush to post this up since I have not been going to my orchestra practice...for almost 2 weeks now. :P Didn't I said it was a holiday week? :D And no I have not done my ASSignment yet...typical.

Anywhoo, this week piece was on of the last pieces I played before the holiday. It wasn't one of the 'greatest' or interesting piece I've played but I like it. :) G major sounds really good ^^. So this week I present Symphony no 47 in G major by F. J. Haydn.
