Football update: Arsenal season 2011/2012

Last weekend was the start of the new season. Football. My life. The football season keeps my insane life more insane and I get to compete and talk bullshit with my male friends, what's not to like? :D But having your other half there with you would be a lot nicer.

Imagine my greatest dismay and utter disappointment when I found out 4 of my favorite players have moved (transfer) to other clubs. =____='' It was really sad.

1. Gael Clichy

I think he was the most versatile player especially paired with Bacary Sagna. I hope he isn't thinking about moving too! We will miss you Clichy.

2. Cesc Fabregas

This move was (not) a big shocker. There was a lot of speculation that he wanted to move since 2 years ago but he always state that he is a true Gunner. But we all know he can only be a true Gunner for so long and one day would move back to his hometown, Barcelona. I actually was very disappointed to hear he actually wanted to move this season. After losing Clichy, this was one sad, sad story to me. And he was the captain and was pretty good too! =____=''

3. Emmanuel Eboue

4. Samir Nasri (possible move)

Arsene Wenger did brought home a few new players:

#15 Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Joined August 2011
Striker

This guy have the longest name :P and I think he has the sweetest smile :)

#25 Carl Jenkinson
Joined June 2011
Defender

Am excited to see him play.

#27 Gervinho
Joined July 2011
Striker

This dude is from Ivory Coast I guess replacing Eboue. :) He got in a little tiff in the first game but I am excited for him to play too :) And a striker, which is pretty awesome.

#31 Ryo Miyaichi
Striker (another one!)

I believe this guy is from Japan (I think?). I am not sure but he looks sweet doesn't he? :D Am hoping he is just as good as Park Ji Sung the Manchester United player.

The started their first game last Saturday which they draw, 0 - 0 with Newcastle United. They also played in the UEFA Champions League vs Udinese Calcio and they won. :) Yay! Their next game is this Saturday against Liverpool and I am excited. :)

Sorry for the geeky-ness and football overload. XD

Football update: FA cup

Shall I say, one game down and more to go :) The FA cup match against Huddersfield Town was scary.
CLK and I was watching this very rare game that comes on at 8pm, but it was raining hard. I was glad it calmed down before the game ends :). When Bendtner scored the first goal I was like "OK! We can do this!" and we were also watching Better off Ted (our favorite!) while the game was on half time. Then when Sebastien Squillaci was give a red card and sent off I was like "damn, not again". I was hoping the won't lose this game, that would really suck.

But of course when Cesc Fabregas came in, the game turned. :D They got a penalty and scored, of course! :D Yay win!!! It really suck because Denilson and Nasir got injured. Get well soon!! I am actually really excited because they have another game on Tuesday. I just hope they can win and are not too tired from the last game. Good luck team!!

Pack your bags cause we're going to Wembley: Football update

Like literally ...we are going to the finals!!! Arsenal I mean XD I can't remember the last time they were ever in the finals. Maybe like years and years back? They were almost thru last season but was short. I was so scared that they were going to lose against Ipswich Town on Tuesday that I did not watch the game. Nerves. I did catch the repeat tho. Epic Arsenal game. Awesome. Another 3 - 0 score. I think 3 should be a lucky number for the Gunners this year. :D But not finishing 3rd of course, that would just be terrible.

The caption, Fabregas scored the third goal and it was just a wonderful sight. *sigh* Bendtner and Koscielny scored the other two goals. Awesome game. Come on, we can win the cup this season!!!

Previous games:

FA Cup
Arsenal v Leeds 1 - 1

Carling Cup (1st leg)
Ipswich Town v Arsenal 1 - 0

Premier League
West Ham Utd v Arsenal 0 - 3

FA Cup (2nd game)
Leeds v Arsenal 3 - 0

Premier League
Arsenal v Wigan 3 - 0

We need this!

On other news, The Green Bay packers and the Pittsburg Steelers are going to the Superbowl. :D

I said "HEYyyy" - Football Update

I was ready for Arsenal game last this morning, and literally fell asleep after the 2nd half started. =__='' Fail! This morning was the Champions League clash - Arsenal vs Shakhtar Donetsk. The commentator said this team was one of the team to look out in this group, but well... Arsenal did beat them. 5 to 1. I suppose they were not in their normal game stride. :)

One of the saddest moment in the game (sad? Really? XD) was that a former Gunner, Eduardo was playing for the team. Awww...I did like Eduardo and was surprised about him leaving Arsenal. I did blogged about that. He stated that if he did score against his former club he wasn't going to celebrate. He did score - the only goal - and true to his word he did not celebrate. But then again why would you if you were 4 goals down. =___='' But everyone was happy to see him play after the awful incident that side lined him for a whole season, broke his ankle (oh I saw it and it was horrifying! I will have to find a picture) and then he moved. :( Sad wish he would've stayed another season. And Aaron Ramsey is going through the same thing!! Broke his ankle after a bad tackle.. I wish you well Aaron!! Can't wait to see you play again!! Ok I found a picture and it is gonna be a lil horrifying (like A LOTTTT) and you can skip it if you are like me. I can't bear to look at it. Maybe I'll make it really small ok?

OhMyGosh, I watched that LIVE!! when it broke and they did not show a reply just a lot of players shaking their heads and holding in emotions, it was a sad day. But now he is better and playing and scored!! Great recovery. But yeah onto the game.

The game was a really good one, I have not enjoyed a good game in a long time. It tend to get bored or just less goals so yeah 5 is a good number. I told CLK that they might score 8 even! if all is according to plan. :P He said that the first goal was pretty quick but I told him it was not quick enough.

via Arsenal.com - warm welcome from the crowd

The goal scorers were Alex Song (19m), Samir Nasri (42m), Cesc Fabregas (PEN-59m), Jack Wilshere (66m), and Marouane Chamakh  (69m). Arshavin came in the second half but did not score. Overall I was pretty pleased with the result (GO GUNNERS!!) and after the win at Birmingham, I hope they can do it all over again this Saturday, clash with Manchester City. Arsenal is always good in midweek and then come weekend they would totally suck (to me anyway, do you feel so Arsenal fans?). I really did wish they would score 8 - 0. :P

When-you-blog-about-football-you-know-life-doesn't-get-that-much-surprising Game 5?

Ok midweek I was super excited about Arsenal winning to Braga (yes it is an Arsenal post, man up) but I was really frustrated and disappointed that they did not win against Sunderland. It is typical Arsenal style (yes they have a style which they need to change!) to do great, and win big midweek and suck on weekends. They need to beat Chelsea :P ahaha. But yeah, disappointed but not so much since 'thankfully' did not watch the game, the channel was crazy fu***d up. The only goal scored is by the sexy captain himself, Fabregas. Which kinda suck I was hoping they would win and gap themselves further from Manchester Utd and closer to Chelsea, but it was not meant to be. **Sob sob

Too bad he got injured not even half way thru the game :-/

Utter disappointment...at least for me

I was looking forward to the Liverpool vs Arsenal clash Sunday night, to a lil disappointment ...to me anyway. No Arsenal didn't lose nor did they win. Disappointing right? They level 1 all with Liverpool. I mean a bad start could be a bad end for Arsenal. I am not high on hope. They have been so close in the last few years...yet VERY far. They have lost some key players before the season starts. And not winning the Liverpool match really makes me worry. I know it is just one game but Chelsea beat West Brom 6 - 0, now thats saying much??

Before the start of the season (YAY! Season officially starts!!) there was a lot of rumors about losing Cesc Fabregas. I was really really nervous about losing him to Barcelona. We all know Barcelona is the IT team right now but I don't really watch La Liga and it is kinda boring so losing Cesc to Barcelona would suck. But lo and behold he did stick around the Emirates for I think at least one more season (lets hope I am wrong). So welcome home Cesc Fabregas.

Arsenal did lose a few players before the season, one which I was really disappoint was Eduardo. He was a surprise move to me. I thought he would've stayed at least till his contract ends or till Arsenal at least win something (anything for that matter it is getting a lil frustrated). Eduardo moved to Shakhtar Donetsk. He will be missed.

Another upsetting move was Philippe Senderos. After a loan spell last season and coming back not playing a game (that I know of) I was hoping to see him play this season. Then I learned that he has made a move to Fulham. I actually liked his skills defending the goal.

A little while back, in May one of my many fave player in the Arsenal team Fran Merida moved back to Spain to Atletico Madrid after 4 years after joining Arsenal. I like Merida, altho he rarely plays for the first 11. I know how it is in the football world. You need playing time not just sitting there watching people play. He is very talented, plays a lil like Fabregas that's why I like his plays. I hope he makes an impact where he is now. I do hope Carlos Vela won't be leaving Arsenal soon...not yet anyway I think he has the potential to play a lot this season.

Arsenal also lost 3 key defenders, William Gallas, Mikael Silvestre and Sol Campbell. Altho Campbell just joined them last year briefly I think they three of them will be missed and I hope Arsenal defense is improving. Sol Campbell will always be a Gunner :). Gallas reportedly made a move to Juventus. Silvestre on the other hand came from Man Utd, and just a brief stay at Emirates Stadium made a move before this season starts to Al Jazira.

Overall, they did sign 2 new players this year, Marouane Chamkh, and Laurent Koscielny. I hope they can make a big impact in the premier league this season.

I guess may the best team win.
